Due to the overwhelming response to the 3webXS Version 3.0 upgrade,
3web has put together a list of 'tips' to help you maximize your Internet
experience with Version 3.0.
3web's latest version of its Internet access software, 3webXS
Version 3.0, is here. Get version 3.0 now and start to enjoy the
new features and enhancements included
with this latest release.
Login Screen: 3webXS version 3.0 has a great new look
and simplified functionality. Some of the new features include:
improved search capabilities powered by Google, advanced
network security, improved virus alerts and options to help
you connect faster!
1. Remembering passwords - automatically
fills in the password field for an account
2. Automatically login - automatically
remembers an account's password and logs into that account
automatically.
Tip: Selecting
"automatically login" will reduce the time it takes to connect
to the Internet.
Tip: Once you've
selected automatically login, to switch to another account click
the
button on the taskbar and select
3. Create a new account - this option allows
you to create another login account with its own customized
3webXS settings!
Tip: Our Online Help Centre
has a whole section devoted to Email. If you have any questions
regarding using your 3web Email, just click:
4. Username transfer - If you used an existing
3web email account that was associated with a different Authorization
Key, you can now have that particular account transferred to your new
account. This process can only be done successfully if the following
items are true:
a. You know the old username and password.
b. The username still exists.
New Taskbar: After successfully connecting to
3web, the 3webXS software will launch the 3web Taskbar on top of
your screen and will display the following menu options:

Can link you to Webmail or can launch Outlook Express
depending on the option you chose. You can switch back and
forth from Webmail to Outlook Express anytime within the
Options screen.
Tip: This email button
will automatically display a corresponding number indicating
how many new email messages are in your Inbox.
How to Customize Version 3:
a. General Options
i. Changing the display language from English to French and vice versa.
ii. Configure Webmail or Outlook Express as your default email client.
b. Appearance Options
i. Taskbar Appearances
1. Changing the Taskbar Height from thick to thin
2. Changing the Taskbar buttons from images and text
to images only
c. Sound Options
i. Changing sound settings on specific events
1. When 3web begins
2. When 3web has connected
3. When new email arrives
4. When 3web shuts down

Tip: The System
Status area within the help site will identify current issues
affecting connectivity, virus warnings, etc.
This button gives you the ability to minimize the taskbar to your
computers system tray located on the bottom right corner of
your screen (where your system clock appears).
Tip: Just click the
next
to your system clock to bring the 3web Console back to the
top of your screen.
If you are using Windows XP, your system tray may
be hidden. If it is, there should be an arrow indicator that you will
be able to click and will allow you to expand the contents of
the system tray.
